Specified Technologies SpecSeal Firestop pillow measures 2 Inch x 6 Inch x 9 Inch and resembles small cushion/brick. It is designed for firestopping medium to large openings containing various penetrating items like pipes, conduits, cables, insulated metal pipes, bus ducts and HVAC ducts. It comprises of a mineral fiber core material that is sealed with a water-resistant intumescent membrane. This coated core material is then heat-sealed into a tough, non-irritating, fire-retardant poly bag.Pillow is intumescent, highly resilient and is installed in openings by compressing/stacking it into the opening in a brick-like fashion. Heat-sealed poly bag is strong as well as durable and does not comprise of sewn seams to unravel or tear. It is ideal for use in applications like data, communications, power or control cables, inner ducts and cable trays. Pillow allows retro-fitting of cable installations without damaging the firestop seal. Pillow is UL classified, FM systems approved and tested to the requirements of ASTM E814 (UL1479) standards.
