The RoamAlert Door Controller monitors an exit in a facility using the RoamAlert wander prevention system. The system provides freedom of mobility to residents in senior care facilities, while ensuring that they remain safe. The Controller generates an exciter field which defines the door coverage area for resident and other tags. When a tag enters the Controller?s exciter field while the door is open a Wander alarm is generated. If the door is closed, the Controller can activate a maglock to hold the door securely shut, and can generate a Loiter Alarm at the computer if the resident does not move away from the door within 55 seconds. The Door Controller may be bypassed by entering a code on a nearby keypad. The system automatically records the identity of the staff member and the resident. If pendant tags (part no. AR3TA01-00D) are used, the bypass process is entirely automatic.
Two Door Controller models are available; selection depends on installation requirements:
RoamAlert Door Controller (part no. SR3ID03)
RoamAlert Door Controller without keypad or power supply (part no. SR3ID03NK)
The two models have the same functionality, and each includes an exciter antenna (for exits up to 20 ft. wide) and two surface-mount door contacts.
