Stanley Delayed Egress Magnetic Locks are used on perimeter exit doors and internal fire doors to block unauthorized exit and entry while providing a safe means of escape during a fire or other catastrophic emergency. When someone attempts to exit through a door protected by a Stanley delayed egress lock, an alarm sounds, alerting staff before the door unlocks. Delayed egress locks provide a ?nuisance cycle? and an ?egress cycle.?
The ?nuisance cycle? requires constant pressure on the door between 0-3 seconds, depending on local fire and building codes, to activate the egress cycle. Once the ?egress cycle? is activated, the door remains locked for 15 to 30 seconds (depending on local fire and building codes), giving staff time to respond to the unauthorized exit. The door will unlock and alarm immediately upon receiving a signal from the Fire Alarm panel. The door will remain unlocked and in alarm as long as the fire alarm is present.
